Dementia is a major health problem worldwide. A recent study suggested that treating risk factors could prevent or minimize 35% of dementia cases. One of the strongest treatable factors is untreated hearing loss.

The anti-inflammatory effects of exercise can keep disease and other issues at bay. Chronic inflammation can cause hearing loss.

Most people do not make the connection between loss of hearing and the onset of anxiety and depression. However, research suggests that the connection is not only there, it's strong. Loved ones and friends are typically the first to recognize subtle changes in the personality of those suffering from hearing loss.
